The Regularness of Life☟
Three days back at work after a fall break got me feeling like my guy Christopher here. Been another challenging month on my end - been cranky as hell but am starting to find my footing and am eager to see what 2024 has in store. Fingers crossed for a not so long December. Gotta keep movin’ on.
Theme from Western Sky Music (Misha Panfilov Remix)☟
Estonian composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Misha Panfilov has been a constant source of inspiration for me since hearing his 2020 LP Days as Echoes. Having communicated via Instagram for a few years, it was an absolute honor to have Misha remix ‘Theme from Western Sky Music,’ a track I view as the centerpiece of the record. Listen to the edit + do not sleep on Misha’s back catalogue. He doesn’t miss. Dan Wilson’s artwork heavily inspired the final WSM album art. Was thrilled to sneak in one more collaboration with one of my favorite designers before the years end.
Winter (Trio) Shows☟
Looking forward to a pair of shows in December and January. Will be in “classic” formation (guitar, bass, steel, drum machine) and trying out some new tunes, covers, etc. Artwork by Albert Lebron. Here’s where to find us:
12.16 Gales Creek, Or at Smokehouse Chicken & Guns
1.18 Sisters, Or at The Suttle Lodge (Tickets)
A Conversation w/ Trevor Powers (Youth Lagoon)☟
I never tire of interviewing other creatives. My conversation with Trevor Powers (who performs and records as Youth Lagoon) for The Creative Independent was both moving and highly inspiring. Loved hearing Trevor speak to observing his past work, the power of being present, and beauty in the mundane. Read the full interview here. You can revisit all my previous conversations (Jeff Tweedy, Tim Heidecker, Sylvan Esso, Kevin Morby, Julia Jacklin, etc.) here.
Interview w/ Pachyman☟
Between DJ sets at Pickathon I was lucky enough to catch a live performance from Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Pachy García (Pachyman). Was blown away by his stage presence and forward-thinking take on dub and roots reggae. Earlier this month I chatted with García from his home-studio in Los Angeles (333 House) for Reverb about developing his ear, providing context to listeners, and when to look for feedback. Switched On, his latest LP for ATO Records is out now. More studio features (Love Magnet, Ryan Oxford) here.
December DJ Sets☟
Closing out ‘24 with a handful of DJ sets. Don’t be a stranger if you’re in Rip City. I know you want to b∞gie. Artwork by Ian Everett.
Headcleaner Nov ‘23☟
We are so back. Here’s the November edition of Headcleaner.

All great recommendations. Also I burned right through pretty much all of Talking Sopranos! Steve and Michael make a great team busting each other’s chops, among other things. Great stuff!
Thank you for the mix as always. Love pinball, good pick.
