I Need to Focus☟

(George Castanza voice): I’m shifting into summer mode.

I recently completed my 10th year as a special education teacher. I love teaching, but I (might) love the agency summertime provides even more. I’m using the start of my break to reconnect with myself, spend lots of time with our new pup, play guitar, and move as slowly as possible before tour. See you out there.

‘Clear Cut’ - Live in Studio☟

Earlier this month Paste Magazine premiered a live, in-studio version of ‘Clear Cut,’ one of my favorite songs from Western Sky Music. I was overwhelmed *this day - new studio environment, first time we’d played together since tracking the record, lots of cameras, people, etc. ‘Clear Cut’ was the last song we did. I remember making a conscious decision to leave that stress behind and enjoy being in a room of people I cared for, admired, and who all believed in my music.

Shot + edited by Austin Abbott w/ additional shooting by Tyler Beus & Diana Ericksen. Recorded at Red Rockets Glare in Portland, Oregon by Raymond Richards and Dominic Armstrong. Mixed by Ryan Oxford. Mastered by Alex Chapman.

Self Portrait - New Commute☟

For their Self-Portrait series, New Commute invites their favorite musicians to create an audio depiction of themselves through songs from the past and present.
